The week ahead
Another big week for the French Open beckons at Roland Garros and we'll have every day covered right through until the women's and men's singles finals next weekend.

The Nations League football continues, first with a mouthwatering meeting in the women's edition as Spain host England on Tuesday (6pm, all times BST), while it's the semi-finals in the men's competition: we'll also have minute-by-minute coverage of Germany v Portugal (8pm, Wednesday) and Spain v France (8pm Thursday), before the final on Sunday evening.

England and West Indies continue their white-ball cricket series: first up it's the men's third ODI on Tuesday (1pm), followed by the second women's ODI on Wednesday (1pm), the first men's T20I on Friday (6.30pm), the third women's ODI on Saturday (11am) and the second men's T20I on Sunday (2.30pm).

It's the Derby at Epsom next Saturday: we'll have a liveblog to take in all the action (plus another one on Friday for the Oaks). The Premiership rugby union season also reaches the semi-finals stage: we'll have live updates from both games (Friday and Saturday). And there's even time to cram in a World Cup football qualifier on Saturday, when England visit Andorra (5pm).

… there is a very good reason why not to support the Guardian

Not everyone can afford to pay for news. That is why our website is open to everyone.

But – if you can afford to do so – here are three good reasons why you might consider becoming a Guardian supporter today:

1

Your funding means we can be completely independent

2

High-quality, trustworthy journalism is a public good

3

You can support us however you like

Help power the Guardian’s journalism at a time when misinformation is rife online and good news can be hard to find. It could be a one-off payment or a regular monthly amount of your choice. Thank you.
