News & comment on sustainable development

The State of Natural Capital

In its first annual report the Natural Capital Committee sets out how natural capital can be hard wired into economic decision making in this country to ensure "the better protection and enhancement of our valuable natural assets".

The Committee on Climate Change calls for cuts in imported as well as domestic emissions, arguing that a global deal could reduce the UK footprint by 70%.

We also look this month at the Government's new sustainable transport strategy and awards for sustainable business and for social and environmental entrepreneurs in less developed countries.
