More than 250 health care workers responded to a social media survey about access to personal protective equipment to stop the transmission of coronavirus in hospitals and care facilities on the front lines of the pandemic.

Health care workers spoke about being forced to ration or reuse supplies, including surgical masks, for fear of running out. Others discussed bringing in their own bleach to make disinfectant wipes. And nearly all who responded said there were shortages of protective equipment where they worked.
