The teen who changed the world. The tweet the King deleted. Vote fraud did happen after all.

Philonise Floyd said Wednesday night the teenage girl that filmed the disturbing video of Derek Chauvin kneeling on his brother George Floyd’s neck “changed the world.”

“You know, there’s no way that I can repay her,” he told MSNBC’s Joy Reid. “But I can honestly tell her she changed the world just like Gianna said like her father was going to change the world.”

He spoke of the impact of the video not just in the context of the trial, but of the impact it had on the world. “People protest because of that video. They see that officers need to be held accountable and now you have a George Floyd policing act that we’re trying to push forward for people like Darnella.”

The teenager, Darnella Frazier, testified in court that she has been kept up at night from the incident and wished she had intervened. After the guilty on all counts verdict was announced, Frazier said on Facebook, “George Floyd we did it!! justice has been served.”
Oprah Winfrey also thanked Frazier in her first response to the verdict. In fact, Frazier has been widely recognized across media and politics for her historic role in this pivotal American moment.

Basketball legend LeBron James deleted a tweet Wednesday that included a picture of the Ohio police officer who fatally shot 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant, after a Twitter backlash that included accusations that James was inciting violence.

Columbus police had previously identified Nicholas Reardon as the officer who shot and killed Bryant as officers responded to 911 calls about an attempted stabbing.

“YOU’RE NEXT,” James tweeted Wednesday, shortly before 3:30 p.m. “#ACCOUNTABILITY.”

The reaction to the tweet was swift, and James’ critics did not mince words. Online or on air.
After about an hour, it appeared that James had deleted the tweet – a move that also didn’t go unnoticed, resulting in additional condemnations.

Eventually, James followed up saying he took down the tweet “because its being used to create more hate.”

“I’m so damn tired of seeing Black people killed by police,” he said. “This isn’t about one officer. it’s about the entire system and they always use our words to create more racism. I am so desperate for more ACCOUNTABILITY.”
