Kerri and the NYT book list
|
More NYT 100 best books I love! | How’s that summer To Be Read list coming along? Maybe less lakeside day-dreaming and more reading? Here are three more delicious books I love chosen by writers who made a top 100 books of this century for the New York Times. Elin Hilderbrand loves Maggie O’Farrell’s “Hamnet,” and if you’re a Thread subscriber, you know I do, too. This book is one of my all time favorite novels — up there with “Jane Eyre,” “Rebecca” and “The Round House” by Louise Erdrich. Marlon James loves “Wolf Hall” by the late and great Hilary Mantel. It made me so happy to see this novel on James’ list because it is the absolute finest of historical fiction. And when you’ve read “Wolf Hall,” immediately move on to the rest of the trilogy. And Roxane Gay cherishes my all-time favorite Ann Patchett book, “State of Wonder.” Love, love that novel! Each of these books will thrill you, transport you and fulfill you. What more can you ask? — Kerri Miller
