The latest insights from CDP, the global environmental disclosure system |
From the ever growing We Are Still In coalition of cities and companies in America, to the UK government placing a firm deadline on the decarbonisation of the auto market, to China planning to roll out the world’s biggest carbon market later this year, the momentum for climate action is picking up pace. CDP has released its strategic plan for 2017-2020, focused on innovating and upgrading the global environmental disclosure system as part of our Reimagining Disclosure initiative. There’s only one direction of travel, and that’s forwards – towards a tipping point in mainstreaming environmental action. |

New analysis by CDP offers original insight to investors on mining and metals, showing that while progress has been made on direct emissions, mining companies are still exposing themselves to high levels of climate and water risk in their supply chains, amounting to US$16bn of hidden carbon costs. Investors have the power to drive innovation in this sector, which must adapt to the ongoing low-carbon transition. | |
