The new collection of photographs entitled "Cones", is a whimsical exhibit representing America's favorite dessert. Diane's obsession with taking photographs of ice cream cones started on a trip to photograph neon signs of 50's doo-wop motels in the resort town of Wildwood, New Jersey. Since then she has been on a quest to photograph more cones and has representations from travels throughout the United States as well as England, Italy and Peru.

This comprehensive survey explores how Chuck Close has stretched the boundaries of photographic means, methods, and approaches. The photographic origin of each Close painting is well known; however, Close's exploration of the medium extends far beyond the use of photographs as a programmatic tool. For the first time in his extensive exhibition history, this project delves into the full range of his photographic works, presenting some 86 images spanning 1964 to the present.

This exhibition presents a selection of nighttime scenes reflecting the range of moods captured by artists as they render the world after dark. From romantic, visionary moonlit vistas to modern realist images based on the Apollo space missions, the images include a variety of media -- including watercolor, pastel and oil -- and represent a range of print techniques: woodblock prints, etchings, lithographs, and photographs. Echoes from the Borscht Belt

Scheinfeld's evocative, large-scale photos capture the dramatic decline of the once-thriving Catskills resort area known as the Borscht Belt, a popular vacation spot for much of the 20th century, especially for Jews from New York. Scheinfeld's images reveal ghostly remnants of the region's glory years as well as powerful evidence of nature's claim on the vacant resorts and their landscapes. The exhibition includes Scheinfeld's personal collection of ephemera from iconic Borscht Belt hotels.

Night on the Town

For the better part of the last year pastel painter Meg Bandarra wandered the valley at night, painting, sketching, and taking reference photos.The resulting work is a unique collection of urbanscapes that seem to glow from within and take the viewer from action-packed early evening scenes to quiet late-night places, all of which focus on the dramatic light and shadow found only after dark.

While majoring in architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, he studied drawing and painting with George Rickey, an internationally known sculptor. In the late 1980's, he began watercolor instruction with Anne Mueller at Holyoke Community College and later at the Hill Institute with Greta Carey and Russ Cross. He has exhibited in Greenfield, Deerfield, and other venues in the area. He has given painting demonstrations at the Deerfield Valley Art Association and the Holyoke League of Arts.

The gallery space will be transformed into a unique experience, with the setting invoking that of a Victorian era study. Artwork will be interspersed amongst the setting to give the visitor a visually stimulating experience, beyond that of a traditional gallery space.

Most of the pieces are abstract work although I have included a few from my two major landscape series.
