Cleveland police officer accused of sending lewd photo to teen girl: A grand jury has issued a two-count indictment against Cleveland police officer Thomas Tewell, 32, in connection with accusations that he sent a sexually explicit photograph to a teenage girl. Prosecutors say Tewell met the girl online and sent her a text message with a photograph of his penis. Tewell is also accused of looking up the girl's personal information through the police database LEADS, prosecutors say. Read more  

Most Ohio GOP congressional members avoid sharp criticism of Trump: Although President Donald Trump drew bipartisan backlash nationally for comments with Russian President Vladimir Putin, most of the 13 members of Ohio's Republican congressional delegation offered, at most, mild criticism. All were asked whether they agreed with critics who casted Trump's statements as unpatriotic or even treasonous. Most refused to say, instead offering talking points or dodging the question outright. Read more  

Report finds insufficient evidence of sexual harassment on police commission: Cleveland's human resources department says it found no evidence that any member of the Community Police Commission violated policy, despite claims of sexual harassment and a hostile work environment made by its executive director and recently-departed staff members. The report also found a lack of evidence that Executive Director Jason Goodrick retaliated against any staff member, but says some conduct may warrant counseling or discipline for Goodrick. Taylor Swift gives Cleveland a summer spectacle that won’t be topped: Taylor Swift has performed in Cleveland more than a half-dozen times, but the pop star put on a spectacular show Tuesday night at FirstEnergy Stadium that surpassed all of her previous appearances. Swift’s show had it all: Pyrotechnics, eye-popping special effects, inflatable snakes, countless wardrobe changes, its star flying above the crowd, and as many fireworks as the Fourth of July.
