Shaker Square planning to kick off with public input: Designers leading a major rethink of public spaces at the historic but aging Shaker Square shopping center will kick off their work next week with one big question: How should the beloved, 5.5-acre square on the East Side be improved after decades of physical decline and patchwork repairs? Project sponsors LAND Studio and Cleveland Neighborhood Progress will use public events on Friday and Saturday to introduce members of the design team to Clevelanders, and to launch a discussion about Shaker Square. The team is planning other sessions in February and April to consult Clevelanders on evolving versions of a new plan for the square, before presenting a final vision in June. Read more. It improves the Browns to 3-6-1 heading into their bye week. Chubb rushed for a career-high 176 yards and ripped off a 92-yard touchdown run that broke the game open. Mayfield completed 17 of 20 passes for 216 yards with three touchdowns. Read more.
