| Because let’s be honest. How do you welcome sick children to a strange new place like a hospital? How do you ease their anxiety and get them to simply smile?
The Welcome Box with its toys, toothbrush and toiletries, colorful knick-knacks and little surprises says to a child and his/her family:
“We know this is hard. We know you feel uncertain. But here’s something to let you know we’re here for you, we care about you and you’re not alone.”
When our patients and their families first arrive at the hospital for treatment following a diagnosis, our goal is to greet them with open arms.
The Welcome Box is our way of giving them that great big hug. |
