Editor's Notes Society has faced massive changes in the past year. That means workplaces have, too. It has affected us individually and collectively, with a pandemic keeping many professionals home, and a racial justice movement demanding action around DEI initiatives and accountability from public institutions. While this week reminds us that the work toward societal improvement is not over, let's take a moment to take stock. So, in this form, tell us: How is your community better or worse than it was in February 2020? (In tech and business, we know that "community" goes beyond companies. It could be the people you work with, or the people who share your ideals, or who you build with in your free time. It could also be your geographic community. Answer as you see fit.) It's a topic we'll explore further at our Introduced by Technical.ly conference on May 13. Fill out the above form with your short answer, and we'll send you a copy of the book "How I Got Here" by Guy Raz, who keynoted last year's Introduced conference. — Technical.ly Managing Editor Julie Zeglen (julie@technical.ly) P.S. We're hosting a live forum this Friday at 12 p.m. EST on future of work trends. Join our public Slack to join the conversation on remote work vs. office returns, finding community virtually, equity and the importance of place. |
