Dear Friend,
May 6 marks the start of National Nurses Week. And here at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, this week carries special meaning — because oncology nurses play a vital role in our patients’ lives. Their hugs can lift a patient’s spirits, and their expert actions can be lifesaving.
From the moment a patient receives a cancer diagnosis at MD Anderson, our nurses are there to help. I’m incredibly moved by their dedication and compassion, and I think you will be, too. Please watch this video and see for yourself. You’ll also hear survivors and families talk about the life-changing care their nurses provided.
MD Anderson’s nurses are at the heart of Making Cancer History®, and we’re proud to support them during National Nurses Week. The next time you see a nurse, be sure to stop and say, “Thank you for all you do!”
Best regards,
Maria Gelormini Senior Associate Vice President for Development Services |
