Hi I am writing this on a glorious October day – what fantastic weather we have had this summer. Still, Autumn is upon us, a good time to get back into our sewing projects! I have a huge apology I was on a well earned break last week and somehow mixed up who was doing what when, so the shop ended up being closed on Wednesday. So If anyone turned up I am really sorry. A huge welcome to all the new ladies who have found Thimblestitch and signed up for a course, it is wonderful to inspire people to either start a new hobby or get back into an old one. In the shop there are lots of lovely new fabrics, plus Christmas advent calendars and stockings. Often it’s so hard to make your choice, but we are always here to help you! There’s new haberdashery – the interfacing selection is growing …. Thermolam, a soft and spongy sew in fleece/batting, perfect for adding structure and support to your bags and purses without adding bulk. Also Lamifix Matt, a fusible, transparent and wet cleanable iron-on film. Toy stuffing has been a big ask, so it’s now in store !!
News My “Crafty Carry All Bag” pattern and kits have been a huge hit, even sending out mail order. We have had great fun selecting the fabric combos. I have added another two day workshop on the 27th and 28th Jan. Dressmaking with Karen has started and is going well, as is Beginner’s Patchwork with Chris. Do put your name down if you would like to join in the future. Giving you plenty of warning, the shop will closed from the 22nd Dec to 3rd Jan. Dont forget to remind your nearest and dearest that Gift Vouchers are available.
Workshop Gallery We have had some super workshops over the summer, Beach Huts with Gary Mills went down a storm, as did Textile Painting with Gemma.
| Sadly Gemma will be leaving us for pastures further afield. I have managed to fit in one last workshop before she leaves. We wish her all the best and will all miss her. | |

I had originally booked Wendy Dolan for two days, which was increased to four as she was so popular. What an amazing Tutor, I was with her for the first two days. You would never have known that she was at Westpoint for four days, then teaching for another two, then Thimblestithes four days. Just amazing. Hoping that she can come back in 2018 as she is fully booked in 2017!! A Wonderful Four Days

Fallen Fairy's - Nov 12th with Gary Mills + extra day 25th Nov if needed
| |
Gary has worked his magic again with the “Fallen Fairy”. She could easily be one of Beryl Cook’s buxom ladies. Straight from one of her paintings this fairy may have eaten a few too many mince pies in the past, but she can still add some Christmas fun and laughter to your festive decorations.
| | |
Burlesque version, she's a little brassy but has a heart of gold.

National Button Day - 16th November
Bring your overflowing button box for a fun day. I have plenty of ideas or you might have your own project in mind. Bowled over - 18th Nov with Sally Baldwin. Experimenting with various techniques focusing initially on free machine embroidery and dissolvable fabric, and then looking at a variety of other ways to create three dimensional textile forms. Christmas Apron - 25th Nov with Karen Fanzo. A lovely apron for you or make as presents.
Geli Plate Day - 21st Nov with Gemma Fletcher. Suitable for newbies to Gelli Plates or old hands Gemma will have loads of new ideas. Come and try this versatile technique. Scented Decorations - 3rd Dec with Louise Nichols. Spend a day making a range of gorgeously scented (Louise's own mix) Christmas decorations. You can either make the complete set or just the designs of your choice. Keep your eye on the Thimblestitch website as Workshops are being added all the time.... Linda Miller in May, Cas Holmes in June and many more in negotiation. Happy Sewing Zoë
