| Times Past A Kaleen family were the focus of a slimy story on this day in 1978 when they complained about the large number of snails appearing in their garden after heavy rainfall. Julie Hopkins, a resident of Hastings Court in Kaleen, reported that dozens of snails often ventured into her garden from the nearby paddock and storm water drains. Julie's husband, Steven Hopkins, was able to collect 50 snails in a matter of minutes.
