| Stocks closed Friday's session with gains and ended the week with modest gains. Today, futures are edging lower in the premarket and currently pointing to a lower open. Job Miss Friday's jobs report missed the mark for the second month in a row. The numbers weren't as bad as April's huge miss, but the report came in substantially lower than consensus forecasts. However, the data also showed signs of improvement. The unemployment rate fell to 5.8%, its lowest point since the lockdown crash last year, and the economy added 559,000 jobs. Analysts were expecting 650,000. |
