Why Is Miller Lite's Ad About Holiday Parties So Unnerving? Because No One in It Is Real
 

I'm just going to be honest, I didn't think much of Miller Lite's holiday ad celebrating the lack of office Chritmas parties when I first got a preview of the spot.

But that's because I was missing an important detail: All the coworkers featured celebrating excessively or ruefully in the ad? They aren't actually humans.

Each is a sculpture commisioned by agency DDB from the renowned artist Alex Prager, who has received global acclaim for her eerily lifelike recreations of people in somewhat everyday scenes. The result is often a sort of "uncanny valley in real life" effect, which is definitely on display here.

You'll want to check out Miller Lite's ad for yourself to appreciate just how incredibly detailed her work is.

And if you're near Los Angeles, you might even be able to check it all out in person! The entire scene is being relocated to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, beginning Nov. 21 and running through Jan. 3, 2021. Each statue will be on display for free outside.
