Happy Friday, Royal Watchers!
It was a bit of a slow week here in ~royal~ land, that is until Madonna, legendary performer, chimed in with her thoughts on Sussexit. Unexpected, right?
Her comments (which included a shot at the Sussexes' adopted home) went viral because of the nature of her plea to the couple. More on that below!
And, in case you missed it, we take a look at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's dazzling night at the BAFTAs. The celebrity-filled event's theme was "sustainability" and Duchess Kate certainly nailed it on the nose with her style. Scroll down to see what she wore!
Lastly, just a little reminder that we love your comments and feedback, so feel free to send us a note. We read all your emails!
Have a wonderful weekend, Royal Watchers! 👑👑 |

Actor Joaquin Phoenix was filmed curtsying to Prince William instead of doing a traditional bow or the acceptable head nod. The moment, which went viral, occured at the BAFTAs on Sunday as Phoenix introduced himself to William.
Why the curtsy, then? So far, Phoenix has not commented on his decision, but we like to think that he was so flustered being in the presence of ~royalty~ that he just went with it. Or, as Jezebel puts it, "I believe Phoenix did it on purpose because gender norms are extremely last decade, and should be subverted as subtly or not as we’d like." |
