And the riskiest holiday scenarios for spreading the virus.

I love spending Thanksgiving with my extended family; it's one of the only times during the year I get to see them since we live in different states. But the risk is too high for our specific situation. If you're curious what the riskiest holiday scenarios may be this season, read this story by reporter Jillian Wilson. She spoke with experts on the most common ways COVID-19 will spread in the coming weeks.
And while we're on the subject, here's some more advice on the holidays and the pandemic:
I also love this story on how to practice gratitude when everything sucks. This week is one of the hardest weeks of the pandemic so far for me emotionally. It's been difficult knowing I won't get to sing in the car with my mom, hug my grandmother, gossip with my cousin over a cocktail or yell at football alongside my dad. Sending you lots of good thoughts if you're struggling with this, too. One day we'll be able to do all of these things, and this holiday season will be just a memory from the past. I'm really looking forward to that!

 | A new report shows exactly how important it is to isolate quickly when you have COVID-19, even if you're not exhibiting any symptoms. Researchers found the timeline when you're most contagious after getting sick (spoiler: it's pretty fast). Our friends at HuffPost UK broke down the study, plus explained the early signs you might have contracted the virus. | |

Got a spare minute? Use it to change your life. Our "A Minute And Change" series will help you become happier, healthier and more productive by doing one thing a little differently. This week's tip comes from psychotherapist Farah Harris on how to do a "gratitude body scan," which can help you find something to feel thankful for:
Take a few deep cleansing breaths and from your head to your feet, take a moment to acknowledge various parts of your body and state a reason why you are grateful for them. An example could be, ’I am grateful for my arms, they allow me to rock my baby to sleep.’ |
