Shew’s Natural Treasures

Fire and Water are critical agents in the ecosystem of southeaster NC. In celebration of Fire in the Pines and FlowILM, CAM will feature a screening of Shew’s Natural Treasures, a documentary that focuses on our unique coastal environment.


A discussion will follow the screening with UNCW Professor Roger Shew and film director Jesse Bradley, joined by the leading organizers for Fire in the Pines and Flow ILM including Andy Fairbanks, Recreation Supervisor at Halyburton Park, Michelle Ly, Conservation Coordinator at The Nature Conservancy, and UNCW Professor Gene Felice, director of FlowILM.

Mary’s Art Explorers is going on a field trip! Join us at Airlie Gardens with Miss Georgia from the Cameron Art Museum.


We will read Bats on the Beach and create our own bats using arts and crafts supplies. Garden admission included with this program!

Long Pose with Figure Models

Instructor: Jeri Greenberg

Enjoy longer poses with weekly models, nude and clothed. Give yourself time to really explore your subject, and build stronger paintings. All mediums are welcome. Demos will help strengthen your drawings. $15 model fee. Adult: All Levels -

Portraiture with Everyday Materials

Instructor: Nico Amortegui

This workshop will explore abstract portraiture with attention to how lines, shape, and color work together. Flow of process will be discussed with the goal of guiding participants to identify and discover their own. An emphasis on using everyday materials to create an art piece will also be the theme.
