Join us this Sunday for FREE admission all day as we welcome Danza Guerreros Quetzalcoatl of Durham for a performance that celebrates the traditions and culture of Mexico through Aztec dance. Performing in full regalia, the dancers are a multi-generational ensemble dedicated to maintaining customs in their community.

Start the day at CAM with family activities in the morning, dancing outdoors in the Sculpture Park with this dynamic group of thirty dancers in the afternoon followed by a Gallery Talk with Lugar de Encuentros/Place of Encounters artist Rodrigo Dorman at 3:30 pm. Learn more.

Rodrigo Dorfman, one of the featured artists from Lugar de Encuentros/ Place of Encounters, has written a memoir documenting his experience as an exile, a wanderer, and ultimately finding his home in the ‘Nuevo South’. He will be at the Cameron Art Museum this Sunday during our Community Day to give a Gallery Talk.

Beginning Figure Sculpture

In this 6-week beginners sculpture class we will start with basic sculpting techniques while observing our hands and conclude with live models in costume and sculpt full forms. Adult: All Levels

Humm Humm Hummingbirds

Instructor: Carolyn Faulkner

Drawing and Painting hummingbirds in two different styles! One will be very colorful stylized hummingbirds after Rosalia Torres-Weiners hummingbirds in the Place of Encounter. The other will be more realistic using their natural colors.

Celebrate World Cyanotype Day!

Join in annual global celebration of show stopping alternative printing/photography process - Cyanotype. Results are unique and varied, while the process is simple and versatile. Explore delicate designs found in nature plus graphic experimentation using masking techniques. Count on spending the day basking in the creation of one-of-a-kind images on papers and fabrics.
