State of the Art Spotlight:

I Hear America Singing

State of the Art/Art of the State offers so many themes to explore. In keeping with the recent July 4th holiday, we though it was appropriate to look at works that take a patriotic turn.

From a red, white and blue quilt from Hannah Hewlett, to paintings of America in transition from artists Linda A. Toner and Kathryn B. Ciarrocca and a black & white photo of protest by Alysson Tarr - these works give us a glimpse at our world and the creative mind of our artist community.

"... a thunderous and ultimately beautiful statement affirming that all art is valid"

Headlight streaks are also part of the night photography mix. We will meet downtown and spend the evening utilizing longer and longer exposures as the sun sets. There is no need for special equipment, just your camera and a tripod. On Saturday, we will meet at 6 pm, the following day, we meet for a group critique and to share our work.
