SPACE MAKERS Art and Disability in North Carolina Opening Night Friday, June 6 | 6-9 PM |
|
Join us on Friday, June 6 as CAM stays open late to celebrate the opening ofSpace Makers: Art and Disability in North Carolina.
There are limitless ways that disability impacts how we navigate the world, and the works created by these artists in Space Makersreflects that variety in abundance. In the exhibition, artists with disabilities claim their voices and command space through visual, experiential, and often experimental artwork. The work in this exhibition offers glimpses into the world of each artist and engages the viewer in conversation about what it means to navigate a landscape of access and ability.
CAM members get exclusive access to see this exhibition early and join an 11 AM tour with guest curator Aaron Wilcox or a staff led tour at 2 PM.
Later that night, join us for a special Friday night opening of our Space Makersexhibition. At 6:30pm, we will host a conversation in the reception hall with guest curator Aaron Wilcox. Aaron will discuss the passionate work in the exhibition, and the ebb and flow of progress in our understanding of disability.
Enjoy live music in the galleria from 6-9 PM while you sample CAM Cafe's Exhibition Night tapas menu along with wines from Theoleo, which supports wildlife conservation with every glass.
