Trends: This summer we’re seeing the convergence of long-time declines and failures of business models supporting the arts. This has led to a crisis across the entire arts and entertainment sector. Not because of lack of demand, but because business models have become untenable as streaming and the social web have grown and COVID recovery takes its time. As an AJ Newsletter subscriber, you are seeing how this very messy trend is playing out. In weeks to come we’ll be working on ways to connect the dots. In the meantime, follow our Twitter feed @ArtsJournalNews to keep up to date in real time. Meanwhile, stay cool. Even here in the Pacific Northwest it’s getting hot!
