| WHAT TO EAT | | BAKE Cheese Tarts — Worth Waiting For. We really hate to break this to you, because the lines can be unconscionably long for the tiny desserts at this hip Japanese chain. But these double-baked cheese tarts, which can now be found throughout East Asia (and at a single San Francisco location), are actually worth the delay. | SUGGESTED BY: /Cheese Expert |
| Kehwa — Kashmir’s High Tea. This Asian delicacy, a green tea brewed with aromatic spices, should really be as famous by now as chai lattes. But lucky you, you can claim to be an early adopter. Traditionally brewed in a samovar and flavored with almonds and saffron, there are also milky versions (served with cookies, of course). The only problem: You might have to go online to buy some as it’s not yet a household name outside of Asia. | SUGGESTED BY: /Always Tea Time |
| Sandwich Society — Back to Basics, Sort Of. This California lunch spot is the holy grail to those who know it. The menu — sandwich heavy, naturally — is all about reinventing classics with quirky flavor pairings, like the pizza grilled cheese. Be warned, though: The veggie options are extremely limited. | SUGGESTED BY: /Down for Lunch |

| | WHAT TO LISTEN TO | | GREY Area — Coming Into Her Own. At 25, British rapper Little Simz has already released three albums, but this latest one is her best. Lacking nothing in confidence — Simz raps, “I’m JAY-Z on a bad day, Shakespeare on my worst days,” to give you some context — this album proves that she is, in fact, one of the U.K.’s most promising talents. It’s only April, but it’s the best rap album of the year (so far). | SUGGESTED BY: /Rap Genius |
| Troye Sivan — Beautiful Vulnerability. Sivan’s last album came out in mid-2018, but this extraordinary Australian icon-in-the-making’s latest release is a single called I’m So Tired, a collaboration with American musician Lauv. The song manages to be both soothing and a dance track, a play-it-a-hundred-times single that’s made us hungry for another album already. | SUGGESTED BY: /Music Buff |

| WHAT TO READ | | The Spy and the Traitor — A True Espionage Story. After last year’s KGB attack on double agent Sergei Skripal on U.K. soil, many wondered who the next target might be. So the time was right to tell the story of Oleg Gordievsky, a top British secret agent of the Cold War era. While he wrote his own memoir in the 1990s, it’s well worth diving into this incredible narrative about his life and career from historian and author Ben Macintyre. Gordievsky’s remarkable story — first as a KGB officer, then as a double agent working for the British, and finally as an exile in the U.K. lest the KGB get its revenge — is told with élan and impeccable research. | SUGGESTED BY: Mark Fiorentino /OZY Fan |

| | | Take your frustrations out on others. The mayor of the Turkish village of Yenidoganlar, who was in office for two decades before being voted out last week, has been accused of taking unusual revenge. Villagers awoke to find him dismantling their local playground and dumping parts into a van. Mehmet Akyol says it wasn’t an act of retribution — and that he was merely recouping his investment, since he had paid for it to be built. | SOURCE: BBC |
