New plans for fire and rescue service reform introduced by Home Secretary
We summarise the new plans from the Home Office, with recommendations from the Grenfell Inquiry being put into law, as well as the launch of a consultation to introduce “system-wide reform” to strengthen the fire and rescue services in England.






 
Three quarters of fire doors “are failing inspections”
A UK fire door inspection organisation has warned of a “tragedy waiting to happen” after it revealed three quarters of the fire doors inspected in the UK by its approved inspectors did not meet the required standard.

A stay put policy for high rise residential buildings should have a viable plan B, in case the building does not behave as expected in a fire and compartmentation is breached, said a leading fire engineering academic at the Tall Buildings Conference, held alongside FIREX International in May.
