Charleston budget includes $1M for Emanuel Memorial

The city has included $1 million in its 2020 budget for the Emanuel Nine Memorial to be built on the grounds of Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston. The memorial will honor nine people killed by a gunman at the church in 2015.

Kiawah Resort opens new conference center

Kiawah Island Golf Resort has opened its new conference center, one of several projects in the resort’s expansion launched in 2018. The West Beach Conference Center contains 23,000 square feet of pre-event and meeting space.

Gotcha, Last Mile complete acquisition

The acquisition of Gotcha Mobility LLC by Last Mile Holdings has closed. The $12 million acquisition was first reported in November, at which time Gotcha’s founder said it was time for his company to find a partner in the growing scooter market.
