Good evening, It’s great that our weekends are starting to get back to normal. After the craziness of the past 18 months or so, including three periods when we were discouraged from actually leaving our homes, society is becoming more relaxed. Shops and bars are busy with people catching up on retail therapy and with their pals and the launch this week of the new Bond film, after it was cancelled twice because of the pandemic, should give all of us cause for optimism. Even the final hurdle, foreign travel, is starting to open up and many people are considering booking a trip to get some sunshine abroad now that they feel more confident that it either won’t be cancelled at the last minute or they will be pulled off the beach at a moment’s notice to return home before the borders close. And of course, we will soon be starting to turn our thoughts towards the festive season when many of us look forward to catching up with family and old friends. That was impossible last year...but this year things are looking a little rosier. Time to be optimistic about the future. Until next time, take care, Gillian |
