Do you ask the right questions when you’re evaluating tools for your martech stack?

For example, do you ask what a martech tool can do? Or, do you ask what a martech tool can do for your team of three marketers?

That is part of what MarTech contributor Gene DeLibero calls “smart modernization.” It’s not about having the most sophisticated stack. It’s about building an ecosystem that drives results.

Also, MarTech contributor Jay Mandel looks at the issue of burnout in marketing. Would you believe marketers burn out partly because no one knows what’s working or why?

Yes. Yes, I would.

What they're saying

  • “You don’t need to see six months ahead. You just need to know how to respond when the road turns. That’s not just better forecasting. That’s better marketing.” – Mark Stouse in Why causal AI works when other forecasting models fail.
  • We’re expected to deliver results, but given KPIs that don’t align with outcomes. Over time, that disconnect becomes demoralizing. You do the work, polish the pitch, launch the thing and still feel like none of it matters.” – Jay Mandel in Why marketers are leaving and what it takes to stay.
