COMPUTING

The M4 Mac launch is reportedly just days away

A refreshed MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini are incoming ... really, they are

The new M4 Macs are finally about to drop, at least according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who often calls it right when it comes to Apple’s plans.

In a series of posts on social media, Gurman said he believes the launch is “imminent.” While he didn’t give a specific date as to when the tech giant might announce the refreshed lineup, he noted that Apple has invited reporters and content creators to a hands-on event in Los Angeles next Wednesday, adding that the updated M4 Macs — including the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini — will “of course need to be announced before then” ...

I tested the battery life of 3 popular smartwatches, and the results were surprising

The manufacturers claim each one can last a full day, and while this is technically accurate, there are some key takeaways to note

The Apple Watch Series 10, Pixel Watch 3, and Galaxy Watch 7 are three of the year's biggest smartwatches, but which has the best battery life and charge speeds?

Digital Trends put all three smartwatches through their paces to see how well the batteries performed. For the best results, they were worn on the same wrist at the same time — an odd look, but someone had to do it.

So, how did the smartwatches' batteries cope with regular use? The Apple Watch Series 10 was bottom of the pile, while the Galaxy Watch 7 placed second. That meant the winner was the Pixel Watch 3, which lasted more than half a day longer than the Apple Watch. For full details, dive into the article ...

Tribit has just upgraded the StormBox Blast 2 speaker

Tribit makes some great Bluetooth speakers, so how does this one shape up?

The StormBox Blast 2 is an upgraded version of Tribit’s popular rugged portable speaker. It features 200 watts of output (when connected to AC power, 180 watts on battery), an impressive increase on the original model's 90 watts. It also has an improved dust and waterproof rating, and new dual karaoke inputs that make it an ideal party machine, Digital Trends reported.

The audio is delivered by five newly designed drivers, including an 80-watt woofer, dual 45-watt midrange drivers, and two 15-watt tweeters.

The Tribit StormBox Blast 2 costs $299, though early-bird customers can get a decent discount if they but it directly from Tribit ...

Ted Lasso season 4? Jason Sudeikis is feeling 'really excited' about it

It's still 'early days,' but a fourth season seems increasingly likely

Warner Bros. executive Channing Dungey has suggested that things are moving forward on a potential fourth season of the Apple TV+ hit comedy  Ted Lasso, with the final decision apparently resting with the show’s co-creator and star Jason Sudeikis.

“We are in conversations about season 4, and they are very exciting conversations, but it’s still early days,” Dungey said via The Hollywood Reporter. "We had always been clear that there wasn’t going to be more Ted Lasso if Jason and team weren’t feeling excited about it, and I can tell you firsthand that he’s in a place where he’s feeling really excited and feels good about it.”

Xbox has finally upgraded its wireless headset

It's the wireless headset's first update since its launch three years ago

Microsoft has just unveiled a refreshed Xbox Wireless Headset, featuring improved audio with Dolby Atmos for spatial sound, 20 hours of battery life over the previous model's 15, and an upgraded microphone with enhanced auto-mute and voice isolation capabilities to eliminate background distractions, Digital Trends reported.

The headset’s physical appearance is pretty much the same, save for the removal of the green rings around the earcups in favor of an all-black look.

The new Xbox Wireless Headset is available from the Microsoft and Xbox stores, as well as from local retailers, and costs $110, making it $10 pricier than its predecessor ...
