Listen Local. Support Local. |
Dear John, Today is a special day for our state: it’s the second-annual California Public Radio Day! KQED is uniting with public radio stations across our great state from Arcata to San Diego and beyond to remind you about the importance of local, nonprofit public radio. We’re all banding together today to ask that you donate to support your community station: KQED. Public radio keeps you connected. It’s your oasis of vital cultural programming and hand-selected music. From discovering new artists to learning how to be civically engaged, public radio is your constant companion. Local news and entertainment is at risk. With cutbacks at many stations, listener-supported radio is more important than ever. California has a rich diversity of voices. Whether in a big city, a rural town, or anywhere in between, every community deserves to be heard. That’s why it’s so important to have strong public radio stations in the Golden State. Local stations not only bring you state-wide and national programming that keeps you informed and enlightened, but also uplift voices from your community and bring everyone closer together. On this California Public Radio Day, think about what California and public radio mean to you, and donate to KQED. Thank you for supporting the future of public broadcasting in California for generations to come! | | Sincerely, | | Michael J. Isip President & CEO, KQED |
