Canadian Cancer Society Give back to drive innovation forward                                                                                                                                                            Â
“Cancer doesn’t care if we are in a pandemic. It marches on. So many Canadians are affected by cancer every day and we can’t forget that — it’s why we must keep funding critical research.”  — Dr Alexander Wyatt, CCS-funded researcher
| This year, we’ve seen our country unite like never before to help protect our most vulnerable citizens and keep each other safe. Today, we are asking Canadians to come together once more but this time to look ahead. To innovate. To dream bigger. To join us in creating a future where no Canadian fears cancer. Today for GivingTuesday, a global day of giving, please support groundbreaking research and a compassionate support system to help people with cancer live longer, fuller lives.
| | | Dr Alexander Wyatt, a CCS-funded researcher, is leading a first-of-its-kind clinical trial to test a precision medicine treatment for people with metastatic prostate cancer. This hard-to-treat type of cancer can greatly impact quality of life, so Dr Wyatt and his team hope to use tumour DNA found in the blood to identify men who would benefit from targeted therapy treatments to create more personalized treatment strategies to improve survival and quality of life for people with this type of cancer. It’s research like this that changes lives — but it’s your support that makes it happen. This GivingTuesday, join us to drive innovation forward.
