The S&P 500 gained 1.0% on Tuesday, and the Nasdaq added 0.9%. The Dow rose 0.8% on the session, and the Russell 2K jumped 1.6%. Today, futures are showing declines in early morning trading action. S&P 500 contracts are down 0.3%. Corteva Inc [CTVA] - Last Close: $62.38 Corteva is on the rise following an early morning press release. The agriscience company released its 2021 Sustainability and ESG Report this morning, and the report showed the company is making progress towards its environmental, social, and governance goals. Corteva's report provides notable updates on many of the companies key ESG initiatives, and it's getting a warm reception in the premarket trading session. CTVA is leading the S&P 500 with a 10.1% gain on the heels of the release. Our Take: The report doesn't seem to contain anything groundbreaking, and CTVA is trading near 52-week highs. This trade might be topped out for now. Cyren Ltd [CYRN] - Last Close: $1.77 News of a key asset sale is rallying shares of Cyren Ltd. The SaaS cybersecurity firm announced this morning that it had agreed to offload its legacy secure email gateway business to Content Services Group GmbH in a cash deal worth roughly US$10.7 million. Cyren says the influx of cash will help it focus on its strategic growth initiatives, such as expanding its anti-phishing solutions, Cyren inbox security, and core threat intelligence services. The company says these products have seen bookings grow substantially in recent quarters, and it was time to accelerate its investments in pursuing these new opportunities. CYRN is trading actively with a 43.5% gain. Our Take: The move could be a sign of good things ahead for Cyren. If it can successfully leverage the cash from this divestment into new product revenue growth, this stock could have some catalysts in its future. DBV Technologies [DBVT] - Last Close: $1.53 An upbeat clinical data report is driving shares of DBV Technologies higher in today's premarket. The clinical-stage biopharma firm reported positive data from a pivotal Phase 3 EPITOPE trial of Viaskin Peanut 250 µg for peanut allergies in toddlers ages 1 to 3 years. The drug met its primary endpoint in the study and demonstrated a statistically significant treatment effect with 67% of subjects meeting the treatment responder criteria after 12 months, compared to just 33.5% of subjects on placebo. The strong clinical data is lifting DBVT to a 25.5% premarket gain on strong volume. Our Take: The new bout of clinical data appears to indicate that DBV Technologies could receive full FDA approval for Viaskin Peanut within the next few weeks. Keep an eye on this one. Stealth Bio [MITO] - Last Close: $0.2650 Stealth Bio is up sharply on strong data from a key drug trial.
The Boston-based biotech company presented new preclinical data that showed its SBT-272 treatment demonstrated functional improvements in TDP-43 pathology, which plays a key role in ALS and frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Stealth Bio presented the new data at the Keystone Neurodegeneration Symposium in Keystone, CO, and said a Phase 1 study evaluating the safety and tolerability of SBT-272 in healthy volunteers is underway. MITO is trading actively with a 47.9% gain on the news. Our Take: This tiny biotech stock could be a buyout target if its work with SBT-272 continues to show promise in treating devastating neurological disorders like ALS and FTD. |
