Technology you need during COVID-19
A big question right now for community groups is how to keep audiences engaged and organisations running smoothly in the current climate. New COVID-19 helpline
The City has launched a dedicated Cockburn COVID-19 helpline to assist vulnerable residents to access information, support and essential services during this difficult time. If you need help or know of someone who does, you can contact the helpline by: Filling out this online form Calling 9411 3319, 9am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
Rewards for volunteers
The City is delighted to partner with local businesses to celebrate those who volunteer their time. Cockburn volunteer organisations can reward their volunteers with a Very Important Volunteer (VIV) card that entitles volunteers to discounts on a wide range of products and services at participating local businesses. Grow it Local is an online platform to help you grow food at home and connect with your community. Not sure what to plant in your garden this season? Got gardening tips you’d like to share? Or have questions about how to get those veggies growing? Beat the social isolation by registering your patch and connecting with like-minded growers on the Grow it Local website or Facebook page.
What to do about AGM's?
Incorporated associations are required to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) within 6 months of the end of their financial year. If an association finds it necessary to delay or postpone their AGM this year due to COVID-19, it is important they apply for an extension from the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety to avoid a potential fine.
