Worcester job growth
 
Of the 289,200 jobs available in the Worcester area in June, 4,200 of them were added between June 2016 and last month, according to the latest data from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
 
Labor complaint filed
 
After a carpenter working on the 145 Front St. site was allegedly fired for trying to improve conditions for employees, the Worcester carpenters union filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board. 
 
Heroin hospital visits up 256%
 
Hospital visits related to heroin grew by 256 percent between 2011 and 2015, according to the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission. The sharpest increase was among patients between the ages of 25 and 34.
