Welcome to the best day in all of sports. Let the Madness commence!

Is it really today?

Yes, it is!

I’d like to begin by offering well wishes to all of you who have suddenly been overcome by a terrible 48-hour virus. Clearly you won’t be able to go into work or school today. (And if you are a student, I’m happy to write a note for your teachers.) The only medicine for your ills is wall to wall basketball. So much to watch, so much to learn and… so much to bet on.

In that spirit, I invite you to check out my Picks Against the Spread for all of today's 16 games. I finished the regular season with a 55-43-2 record. If you think I’m just that smart, play me. If you think I’m due for a regression, as our Betting Editor Justin Perri would put it, fade me. Either way, watch, have fun and savor the chaos to come.

I also encourage you to check out Justin’s picks, as well as the viewing guide put together by my good buddy Clark Kellogg. Check back early and often with our constantly updated live blog, which will have a steady stream of content from our team of writers who are scattered across across the country covering it all. That includes the women’s tournament as well, which has tipped off its First Four and gets into full swing on Friday.

So climb under the covers with your bowl of chicken soup, get your multiple screens together and battle through this nasty virus with the best medicine of all — the NCAA Tournament. Thanks for your support of Hoops HQ. Let’s get started! —Seth

March Madness is moving from a brisk jog to an all-out sprint now! Pedal to the metal and full throttle! Here… We… Go!

It’s time for the captivating and confounding drama; the enlightening and illuminating storylines, and the crowning of a champion 18 days from now.

There will be 10 days of games in a span of 2.5 weeks. From 68 teams to One Shining Moment.

I’m so excited and grateful to be part of one of the best sporting events on the calendar, because it always, always delivers!

Here’s what I have my eye on this March...
