This morning, the IDF announced the tragic loss of another soldier, Sgt. First Class (res.) Roi Sasson, 21, who was killed in a clash with gunmen in northern Gaza. May his memory be a blessing. Sasson’s death brings the total number of soldiers, reservists, and security officers killed in fighting since the horrific attack on October 7, 2023, to an unimaginable 800 lives lost. This devastating toll reflects the profound sacrifices of Israel’s brave young defenders, most of them in their early 20s, who give their lives to protect our nation. Each loss reverberates through families, friends, and entire communities, leaving a trail of grief, shattered dreams, and widespread psychological trauma. As the numbers rise, so does the collective weight on Israel’s morale. Meanwhile, dozens of innocent individuals remain held captive in Gaza, their fates unknown. Terror attacks and rocket barrages persist daily, striking fear into our hearts and testing the resilience of our people. The danger has not subsided; the challenges are greater than ever. In these dark times, Zaka Tel-Aviv remains steadfast, responding to the needs of victims, supporting families of the fallen, and aiding communities under constant threat. Our work is vital, but we cannot do it alone. |
