Hey fam,

As the trial against Ahmaud Arbery's killers progresses, key testimonies have undercut the three defendants' justifications for pursuing the 25-year-old. A property owner testified that he did not authorize defendants Gregory and Travis McMichael to watch over his construction site, nor was he particularly concerned about theft. An officer testified that he would have only given Arbery a warning for trespassing. And early on in the trial, McMichael changed his story, which might damage the defense's argument.

On February 23, 2020, three white men chased Arbery through a residential neighborhood in Georgia for five minutes, then gunned him down because they claimed to believe he was burglarizing houses in the area. In actuality, Arbery was out jogging for exercise.
