In a move that's certain to set off a legal fight, Gov. Jeff Landry vowed to sign a law mandating that the Ten Commandments be displayed in every Louisiana schoolroom. The governor also followed an important Louisiana political commandment: thou shalt not cross trial lawyers, particularly if they support your campaign. 'I can't wait to be sued': Gov. Jeff Landry is opening another front in the culture wars, this time over what was until recently a long-settled battle over the separation of church and state. During a speech in Tennessee this week, he vowed to sign a bill mandating that every classroom in Louisiana hang the Ten Commandments on its wall. As Patrick Wall reports, he told listeners he's looking forward to the lawsuits.

Alligator tickets: Yes, there are alligators in New Orleans. No, you shouldn't bring them to Esplanade Avenue. Three Texans have been cited for strolling around New Orleans with a three-foot alligator, a jaunt captured on social media (of course) that roused the ire of the state's Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
