Hello, Wednesday is when we celebrate some of the things done by the fine folk of Lancashire. We start with a life well lived as tributes have been paid to a popular hairdresser who never retired. Margaret Sherlock, 92, who had been styling in her home salon Hair by Margaret for over 65 years, has passed away after a short illness. And we were inundated with messages about how she’d touched people’s lives. Elsewhere, a Leyland woman has set up a pet food bank in her cake shop to help owners struggling to feed their dogs due to the cost of living crisis. Vicky Brown, 40, who is the owner of Victoria Cakes at School Lane, decided just 10 days ago that she would transform her shop into a pet food bank every Monday. We’ve also got the best of our A-Level success stories with GCSEs to come tomorrow. Thanks for reading, Adam adam.lord@nationalworld.com | |
