| Hello. President Donald Trump has said the US's highest-ranking prosecutor should release "whatever she thinks is credible" on sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as he faces a rare backlash from supporters after seeking to draw a line under the case. From Budapest, correspondent Nick Thorpe takes a look at how Hungary's right-wing PM could be brought down by those formerly within his own circle. And a Cuban minister has resigned after claiming the country has no beggars. | |

TOP OF THE AGENDA | Trump's allies demand 'transparency' over Epstein files |
|

Credit: Getty Images | US President Donald Trump is facing a rare backlash from supporters amid accusations that information about sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's crimes has been withheld to protect influential figures. Trump has now said Attorney General Pam Bondi should release "whatever she thinks is credible" on the well-connected convicted paedophile's crimes. She has been widely criticised by Trump's political base after saying there was no evidence that Epstein - who killed himself in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial - kept a client list, or was blackmailing powerful figures. At the weekend, Trump urged supporters not to "waste time and energy" on the controversy. But his allies, including House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson, are calling for "transparency". |

| | | Just as Orban reaches the height of his fame abroad, the carpet is being tugged from under his feet at home. Credit: Anna Moneymaker/Pierre Crom/Getty Images | Viktor Orban has ruled Hungary as PM for 19 of its 35 years since the fall of communism. For much of that time he has fought against a liberal world view, an approach that has won him legions of admirers around the world who support his attack of "woke" culture. But now, his power looks to be under threat. Yet it's not liberals but the centre-right and those formerly in his own circle, who are mounting the biggest challenge to him. |
