Good morning! Here are today’s temperatures:

☀️ 14 – 41° in Logan

🌤️ 26 – 44° in Salt Lake

☀️ 35 – 55° in St. George

Election night was a busy one for the Deseret News, with reporters on the ground across the nation keeping tabs on the election. Samuel Benson attended Vice President Kamala Harris’ watch party at Howard University in Washington, D.C, and Dennis Romboy reported from Trump’s watch party in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Below is everything you need to know about the national and local election results.

Trump pulled off a historic victory. How it happened

Samuel Benson writes: A slim majority of U.S. voters are dissatisfied with the direction of the country, and they trust Donald Trump to fix it.

Early Wednesday morning, the U.S. presidential race was called for Trump, and he was poised to secure a landslide victory.

Kamala Harris chose not to address the thousands of supporters gathered at her election night party at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and Trump was on his way to winning all seven battleground states and delivering a clean sweep.

“This was a movement like nobody’s ever seen before, and frankly, this was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time,” Trump declared early Wednesday morning. “There’s never been anything like this in this country, and now it’s going to reach a new level of importance, because we’re going to help our country heal.”

Brigham Tomco writes: The race to replace Utah Sen. Mitt Romney was called for 3rd District Congressman John Curtis by The Associated Press shortly after polls closed on Tuesday.

Curtis won Utah’s open Senate seat showdown by nearly 25 percentage points against his Democratic contender Caroline Gleich, with only some precincts reporting. As of 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday night, vote totals showed Curtis with 59.7% of the vote, Gleich with 35.7% and Independent American candidate Carlton Bowen with 4.6%.
