Chaos

More mayhem across the nation on Sunday night [New York Times].

Target, CVS and Walmart closed some stores because of protests that turned violent [AP].

Protesters and police continued to clash near the White House on Sunday night. Police fired tear gas at demonstrators [WaPo].

President Trump was taken to an emergency bunker under the White House as protests broke out in Washington, D.C. on Friday night [CNN].

Chinese state media mocked Trump for "hiding" during the protests that rocked the nation over the weekend [Guardian].


Response

Many Republicans and conservative commentators blamed the nationwide protests on Antifa. President Trump tweeted Monday that the U.S. would designate Antifa as a terrorist organization, but experts believe that move would be unconstitutional [CNN].


Warning

Experts say the protests across the country over the weekend could lead to a new spike in coronavirus cases [NBC News].


Delay

President Trump delayed an in-person G7 meeting until at least September. Trump also wants to invite four additional countries including Russia and South Korea [CNN].


Spaceflight

Two NASA astronauts successfully boarded the International Space Station after traveling aboard the SpaceX capsule [WaPo].

Leisure travel may return quicker than you may think [Bloomberg].
