TOP OF THE AGENDA | Tariffs to hit steel and aluminium imports |
| | During his first term, Trump put tariffs of 25% on steel and 10% on aluminium from Canada, Mexico and the EU. Credit: Reuters | President Donald Trump has said he will announce a 25% import tax on all steel and aluminium entering the US. The move is expected to have the biggest impact on Canada, a key steel and aluminium supplier to the US. Mexico, Brazil and South Korea would also be heavily affected - follow our live page for the latest news and analysis. Additionally, Trump warned of reciprocal tariffs on all countries that tax imports from the US, but he did not give further details. These new measures would mark an escalation of Trump's trade restrictions, which have so far hit China - while Canada and Mexico won a temporary reprieve. In response, China announced tariffs on some American goods, which came into effect on Monday. |

BEYOND THE HEADLINES | The young men turning to far-right parties |
| | | Displays of far-right support come as the horrors of Nazi Germany slip from living memory. Credit: Getty Images | As Germany waits to see just how well the far-right does in the upcoming national election, Jessica Parker and Kristina Volk look into why so many young men in particular are being drawn to those parties, and what the consequences could be for a country that's deeply conscious of its Nazi past. |
