Anyone else need a boost of energy today? Then try one of the resilience practices in today’s Leadership & Development story from Entrepreneur. I did the Legs up the Wall one. It worked! I looked ridiculous. (The roommate walked in while I was laying on the ground. “OK,” he muttered as he walked away shaking his head.) But when I got up off the ground, I did feel different. I’m going to give it another try later this afternoon. If you do it, be sure to put your timer on, put your phone away and close your eyes. I took a couple Slack messages while I was in the position and that defeats the purpose. Let yourself relax. Put music on if it helps. I had my Christmas candles going. This time of year saps energy. I know I’m feeling it. Burnout is coming in hard and fast. I know I have to take care of myself or risk getting sick. This Legs up the Wall exercise will be a nice way to break up the workday and rejuvenate myself. Let me know if you try one of these, or if you have another practice you use to stay energized through the holidays. And if you enjoy this brief, tell others so they can benefit also.
