Dear friend and supporter, Today is Tu Beshvat, the Jewish New Year for Trees, a day traditionally associated with renewal and growth. At the Feed Israel Center in Pardes Katz (Tel Aviv District), we embraced this spirit by hosting a special celebration for the elderly and Holocaust survivors in our community. The main purpose of this gathering was to serve as a source of strength in one of the most challenging periods in Israel's history. As we shared traditional Tu Beshvat fruits, laughter, and stories, we sought to uplift spirits amid the ongoing conflict. For many of our attendees, particularly Holocaust survivors, this time echoes a past filled with adversity. The horrors of the Holocaust are a distant yet stark memory, and the current wave of violence is a grim reminder of those times. Our event aimed to offer a brief respite from these hardships, a moment to find joy and unity in the midst of turmoil, and to remind ourselves of the resilience and strength that have carried us through history's darkest hours. Your support is crucial in making events like this possible. By contributing to Feed Israel, you empower us to continue our work with the elderly, Holocaust survivors, and huge demands of the evacuees, bringing nourishment, light and joy into their lives. |
