| S.C. Federal to acquire Florence-based credit union S.C. Federal Credit Union will acquire Florence-based Health Facilities Federal Credit Union effective March 2. All aspects of Health Facilities will come under S.C. Federal’s umbrella. The Florence locations and all employees are expected to be retained, according to a news release. Home Telecom awarded $8.1M grant for rural broadband The Rural Development Broadband ReConnect grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will be used to develop 96 miles of fiber optic cable in rural Berkeley and Charleston counties. The grant will help create or improve high-speed broadband infrastructure in areas of Honey Hill, Huger, Awendaw, McClellanville, Cross and Sandridge. |
