S.C. Community Loan Fund receives grant for small business growth

The S.C. Community Loan Fund has received a $500,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation to help small-business owners with lending, technical assistance and community relationship building.

Evening Post Industries contributes to SCRA partner fund

Evening Post Industries, the owner of The Post & Courier, has contributed $250,000 to SCRA’s Industry Partnership Fund, which supports entrepreneurs, academia and industry through grants and investments. The Industry Partnership Fund allows individuals and corporations to receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit for their contribution.

Turbine inventor says he can change wind industry

A Greenville inventor has used his experience designing thrill rides to design a wind turbine that he says will revolutionize wind energy. Jerry Barber expects his second prototype to be making electricity in Kansas within the next few months.
