His latest book, The Day the World Stops Shopping, will be published in May. Ahead of that, MacKinnon will speak to Canadian Geographic audiences in an exciting Q&A!

Our virtual season continues on April 1, when we will bring you a powerhouse panel of women working in the environmental sciences. Our panel includes social scientist Ingrid Waldron, biologist Alexandra Morton and Megan Leslie, former MP and current President and CEO of World Wildlife Fund Canada.

Later this spring, join us as we host Suzanne Simard to discover the wisdom of the forest. As a professor of forest ecology, Simard has tested theories about how trees communicate with each other. We'll speak with her on May 6

All of this spring's talks will be at 8:30 p.m. EST and will be hosted on youtube.com/canadiangeographic, Facebook and Periscope.
