I sometimes wonder what I ever did to deserve so much.
It would be nice to answer, “I worked harder and played smarter,” but that wouldn’t be the whole story.
Too often there’s an assumption made when comparing our achievements that “all other things remained equal,” when very little was.
When necessary, I humble myself by recognizing that sometimes the people who struggle the most are the ambitious ones who took on a more “advanced” learning track this lifetime -- true life adventurers!
This doesn’t mean that I didn’t work hard, that some successes are lesser than others, or that all people can’t live their dreams, it’s just something that makes me less critical of myself and others.
What remains true for one and all, John, no matter our background or how challenging the course, is that we each have what we need to transcend, rise above, and live happily in abundance, health, and harmony… which is what I wish for you in the New Year!
