Chaka Khan's Meltdown takes over the Southbank Centre The UK's longest running artist-curated music festival is back! And when it comes to putting together an utterly euphoric line-up spanning jazz, R&B, soul and more, ain't nobody does it better than Chaka Khan.... Chaka Khan's Meltdown kicks off at the Southbank Centre on Friday 14 June with a hotly-anticipated greatest hits concert from the Queen of Funk herself, celebrating her unparalleled 50-year career. Over the next ten days, you've got the chance to discover artists as diverse as Khan's discography, alongside internationally renowned acts including Emeli Sandé and Todrick Hall. From pan-African feminist supergroup Les Amazones d’Afrique to the acid jazz stylings of Incognito, to 13-time Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Bruce Hornsby, if your music taste leans eclectic, you're in for a real treat. It's a fantastic programme for party animals, too — with the likes of Norman Jay, Adonis and Queer Bruk providing late night revelry.
There are plenty of free events as well! Celebrate the capital's LGBTQIA+ nightlife at Southbank Centre's Riverside Terrace on London Queer Soundsystem Day, relax with a soundbath, or enjoy reworked versions of Chaka Khan's cuts as part of the ultimate masterjam.
